am i the only one with this issue? i really want a cool bedroom, and my bedroom is pretty big so it should be easy to decorate,, but like as i look at pics of old bedrooms from like the 90s~00s, i see like. computer desks, tvs, bookshelves and cd/dvd shelves, radios,, and they all fill up space in the bedrooms, which actually seems like it would make decorating easier, since u have less empty space,,, i feel like ever since we got the phone, all of these things are way less accessible, (and it might feel semi unnatural to use them,, or atleast for me, gen z phone addict,,,) like, you can condense all that in a phone.. except a phone wont doesnt fill any space in a bedroom TT and it makes it an extra effort to actually furnish a room,
bc of that, it feels like phones naturally encourage minimalism
anyways any tips to become maximalism-pilled?, what do you guys do to decorate ur bedrooms and occupy the space u have available,, especially if ur bedroom is big but very empty like me? do u furnish it w all the tech mentionned previously?? what kind of trinkets do you hoard in ur bedrooms?? pls gimme ideas,, thank youuuu
ps: i want my bedroom to be cooler but i have the "cant bring myself to spend money on anything other than clothing and makeup" disease TT anyone else stingy with anything not related to ur fashion lifestyle??

ANNDDDD dont forget the importance of having things on ur walls,,,,with no rhyme or reason necessarily LOL its not the most helpful but i really cant express enough to just like move things around and see what u like, found a random tapestry u like? put it on the wall. Got alot of jewelry? put it on the wall. what i used to do that i liked even before i was in gal, was having like a shelf or dresser from walmart and putting even more stuff on top of it lol i just like feeling surrounded by stuff LOL i hope some of that was helpful i ended up just rambling a bit, i love talking about decor teehee

I collect a lot of stuff like dolls, anime figures, toys, etc so i have a couple bookshelves for them, my walls are completely full with posters and i have a wardrobe rail so you can see all my clothes just Out and i think everything together adds a lot I also have a necklace holder that just hangs them all out in the open on my wall and i think it looks cool My friends always say my room is messy but in a good way and everything looks good together but tbh i just have a lot of stuff and keep my LED strips on pink so it ties everything together If you have collections like that or stuff you like you should show it off around your room! My clothes, collections, self care products, etc are all on display so my room looks cluttered but it is also practical.

My room is roughly it's 6 x 8 ft. It's supposed to be this houses laundry room, but I made it my room when I moved in as a kid. Living in this small space filling it up with stuff I obsess over keeps me sane. I actually made my own curtains because the window is unsightly and decoed my own AC lol! I fill my shelves up with tons of bl, kpop albums, and a lot of figures!
I think a good way to think of it is put everything you love/buy up for display. Since you mentioned "cant bring myself to spend money on anything other than clothing and makeup" disease i agree with pocha and oh2312! i suggest maybe even hanging some of your go to clothes! You wear it often so it's easily accessible if you put it on your wall with a hanger. I have actually have tons of my bags like that! And since its your fav go to, you reaching for it often will keep if from getting dusty lol!
I also suggest corkboards! I painted the frame of one white and lined it with a fabric to match my room and pin whatever on it! Also! If you're allowed to I suggest painting your room and adding an accent wall! My room is pink and when I didn't have as much stuff I actually painted one wall with white stripes too! Now I have stuff covering most of it but BOY did it help add character to my room!
I agree though, phones have made it super easy to forget/neglect physical media which has made physical collections not that much of a need for people. ((which i hate cause i wanna chew on everything i love and own (figuratively) ))
